Recently the speech that Ashton Kutcher made at the Teen Choice Awards reminded me of.. me! Things that he advised to the children are things that I have said to others, and are also things I’ve thought about as I grew up dedicated to working. I am always working towards something better and have also been working towards these things since a very young age seeking for any new opportunity. I’ve worked as gym cleaner/babysitter, hostess,server,gift-wrapper,caterer,etc. With all these experiences in the workforce like Ashton,” I’ve never had a job that I was better than”.
Sometimes my mind wanders on what it would be like if I wasnt working in a situation where I always had to be somewhere at a certain time and at a certain place and it motivates me to continue to work on starting up my own company. I want to be a CEO of something that I have created and I am consistently thinking of what I can do and what I need to do to make it happen. In the meantime, I am a hard worker and I am dedicated to working hard at my job and for whoever I am working for currently. I am highly competitive at my job and I am motivated by results and I am inspired by recognition. Something I recommend to help you if you too are looking to build your own life and opportunity is to take and read Cliftons StrengthsFinder. After I took the quiz that the book offers it enabled me to focus on my top strengths so I can enhance my own strengths and start from there. These are my top five!
People who are especially talented in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what could be. They inspire others with their visions of the future.
People who are especially talented in the Significance theme want to be very important in the eyes of others. They are independent and want to be recognized.
People who are especially talented in the Focus theme can take a direction, follow through, and make the corrections necessary to stay on track. They prioritize, then act.
People who are especially talented in the Woo theme love the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over. They derive satisfaction from breaking the ice and making a connection with another person.
People who are especially talented in the Competition theme measure their progress against the performance of others. They strive to win first place and revel in contests.
I hope this inspires you on Labor Day to reach for your own stars, and start your path to your own opportunity!
Happy Labor Day!!
